We met down at Port Noarlunga, where @louisehosking_ and @_jords_francis_ (and @oli_jed in spirit!) ran our second day of Dive for Change! 💙

Even though the sea foam had other plans for us (no diving this time 😅), that didn’t stop the crew’s enthusiasm. Instead, we turned it into a beach combing session — getting a close-up look at how the current bloom is impacting one of SA’s most loved dive sites.

After our walk, we took a stroll along the jetty for a better look at the water, then headed to a local café to chat about ideas, feedback, and how we want to shape these sessions moving forward. 💬☕

It was such a great turnout with heaps of positive discussion about how we can make “Dive for Change” a real force for good in our local waters. 🌏✨

What a day to dive Rapid Bay! It was diver central today, with divers everywhere, but the old jetty never disappoints! 😍✨

Before the T-Section on the left hand side there were literally hundreds of spider crabs congregating! Apparently big rays were flying overhead for a feed at some point as well. What a sight!! 🤩🤩 A bit further on, we spotted several dragons (even a pair of dragons cruising together!) and on the way back we were surrounded by a big school of squid and spotted a baby Gulf Catshark! 🦈

Rapids won’t get much better than this guys!! 🥳🥳

🌊 Dive Against Debris Success at Garden Island Jetty! 🌊

What an epic day out!
9 amazing volunteers came together — 1 land support, 2 snorkellers & 6 divers — for a 1-hour cleanup dive with visibility ranging from 1–3 meters and the most stunning weather 🌞

Findings?
🗑️ Here’s what we pulled out:
• 6 fishing rods
• 5 pieces of clothing
• 4 knives (!?)
• 2 pairs of sunnies
• 2 glass bottles
• 2 cans
• 2 crab nets
• 2 golf balls
• 1 car tire
• 1 large hand spear
• 1 vape
• 1 hat
• 1 shoe
• 1 bucket of soft plastics
• 1 bag of fishing lines
• Plus, a handful of miscellaneous junk!

Bonus highlight?
We even had a visit from a pod of dolphins to thank us for the cleanup! 🐬💙

Wrapped up the day with a well-deserved BBQ thanks to the awesome Flinders crew 🍔🔥
