Diving Adelaide organised a weekend away to Edithburgh for the weekend of 2, 3 and 4 May. Diving Adelaide Divemasters Rob and Anita were the trip leaders and did a great job! We had many divers join us including Dale and Jos from the Flinders University Underwater Club! The weather wasn’t that great on Friday, but on Saturday the group started with an early morning dive and most people did 1, 2 or 3 dives more. Rob and Anita found a couple of different Anglerfish (including a Tassled Anglerfish!), Warty Prowfish, Seahorses, lots of shrimps, nudibranches, octopuses, and all the usual suspects! In the evening the whole group went to dinner at the local pub, a great way to finish the day!
On Sunday morning conditions were perfect for diving! The water was nice and flat and we had some great visibility. Rob and Anita did 2 more dives, after which the Lees family and Ron prepared a nice brunch for the people who were still around – thanks guys!! Most people drove off in the afternoon but Ron, Denise and Dominiks stayed for another night and on their Sunday late afternoon dive they found mating Blue Ringed Octopuses! Pretty amazing, but we watched from a safe distance of course ;).
On Monday conditions were still perfect and Ron, Denise and Dominiks did another 2 dives. Highlight of those dives was definitely the orange Warty Prowfish! On the days before we had found the white Warty Prowfish which turned out the be a female one, while the orange one is a male Warty Prowfish. Hopefully we’ll see baby Warty Prowfish in the near future! ;).
