Last weekend Diving Adelaide organised another fun weekend to Edithburgh and we had a great time! The weekend started on Friday and people had the option to stay til Monday. Some great dives were enjoyed on Friday night and Saturday. Our Edithburg favourites were spotted on both days! Trip leaders Rob and Anita had no problems showing everyone the super cute Striped Pyjama Squid (although they are actually cuttlefish!) & Dumpling Squid. They are tiny and so fun to watch! The divers were also treated to a beautiful Sand Octopus. As Phil said; they look like those “deep sea” octopuses, but then small and in shallow areas! And my personal favourites, the Anglerfish and Tassled Anglerfish were also encountered. Yes, there were some great photo opportunities for everyone!
On Saturday evening we went out for dinner and then listened to the musical beats by DJ Rob. The weather wasn’t great on Sunday, although a couple of people managed to get a dive in at Ardrossan. The rest of the group took the car and explored the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, some great sunset shots were taken! In the evening Ron showed everyone how to make a simple movie of all the collected footage, while everyone was enjoying a glass of wine etc.
Early Monday morning our “scout” Dominiks went to the jetty to explore the conditions, and believe it or not, they were great! Everyone quickly hurried out to the jetty and we had an awesome dive where we spotted a beautiful ray, lots of nudi’s, seahorses, a pyjama and dumpling squid, angler fish, and much more. The weekend finished with a great lunch at the Port Wakefield Bakery. Thank you Rob and Anita for leading this great trip and thanks to everyone who came out!
